Seven Takes Countdown - Volume 15 - February 3, 2012

New Notable Country

Rascal Flatts - "Banjo"
Honestly, I think it's a terrible first single from their album coming out April 3rd. The point of the song is basically Rodney Atkins' "Backroad," except that "Backroad" is awesome, and "Banjo" is not. If this is what we are to expect from their new album, then it's an album full of B-sides. Yet, somehow, ACC's got it at 31 in its debut!? Alright, y'all music corporation crazies, I haven't even heard it on the radio, yet, not Pandora, not Sirius, not WMZQ. I'm not saying it isn't being played at all - I'm simply saying that it isn't being played enough to debut so high.

Josh Turner - "Time is Love"
Yea! We've got a new version of Clay Walker's "Livin' on Love," and it's a nice one. "Time is Love" runs in the style of Turner's "Would You Go with Me" with the bubbling mandolin accompanying his his deep rich voice.

Songlist for Countdown
