Here's a great new single out by Brent Anderson, "Amy's Song."
Brent's first single is headed to the charts already. The Mediabase charts put him at #45 right now with over 300 plays on the radio. Call in some requests, y'all. I want to hear more from this guy.
He borrows a bit from ol' time Pure Prairie League's "Amie." This new straight imitation going on in country music is really quite a joy. When did it start? Somewhere around 8 years or so ago, with Gary Allan's "Songs About Rain"? Or do we count when Alison Krauss re-recorded "When You Say Nothing At All" on her own and then as a dubbed duet including Keith Whitley's voice, six years post-mortem. Now we've got people singing about Hank, even using "to Hank" a verb. Justin Moore's got a song called "Hank it Up." Love it. Brad Paisley's "Old Alabama" was the most blatant until "Amy's Song." The best part is that it even features Alabama, something not possible for the others.
