Smokey Robinson "Now & Then"

Cracker Barrel strikes again! Cracker Barrel has a whole new music line, putting out records from silver-type musicians. The newest one is Smokey Robinson. Six on the songs were recorded live, ones that you recognize from way back when, such as "The Tears of a Clown," "The Tracks of My Tears," and "Ooo Baby Baby." These live tracks are not nearly as good as the old recorded versions, but they are fun songs to have around none the less. Five of the other six, written by Mr. William Robinson himself, are apparently of an age with Smokey. They are sleepy and tired, jazzy and...did I say sleepy? The second track is Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" redone by Old Smokey. He took this amazing song and actually made it sound better. Props to him. My recommendation? Buy this CD. And while you're at CB buying it, eat some of their fried okra. It's delicious.
